Cabinet approval rate falls to 53.6%

The approval rate of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s Cabinet in July fell 3.8 percentage points from a month earlier to 53.6 percent, down for the third straight month, a Jiji Press survey showed Friday.

Although the Cabinet’s approval rate remained relatively high, the figure was the lowest since its launch in late December, below the 54.0 percent level in the January survey.

The disapproval rate rose 3.3 points to 23.3 percent.
